MY NAME IS DAPHNE. WELCOME TO MY WEB PAGE.

As you know, I am the real star at Kong Lung Historic Market Center in Kilauea. Although everyone loves the shopping, dining and history at Kong Lung, all the attention ends up on me! Here are some fun facts about me and my breed.

Type of Bird: Umbrella Cockatoo

Birthday: April 1, 2000

Favorite Snacks: pizza, bread & butter, danishes, scrambled eggs, salmon and fruit (especially bananas because I like to peel them apart).

Favorite Music: Michael Jackson, the song “Beautiful Kauai” and anything with a good beat that I can dance to.

Favorite Game: Playing catch (but if you miss I might laugh).

Things I can say: Hi Daphne, snuggles, bye-bye, and I love you!

My greatest talent is the ability to dismantle and take apart almost anything- computers, combination locks, eyeglasses and frozen door hinges. I can even untie rope and knots. A “toy” only lasts a few hours. I also like to put things back together again, like the keys on a computer keyboard. I am particularly fond of a computer mouse with the roller ball.

I like dogs and used to lead my brother Mochi around on a leash in my kitchen.

I love people. In fact, I am one of the friendliest of all parrot breeds. I love people so much though, that you shouldn’t let me hold onto you, because I won’t want to ever let go! I am not aggressive, but I may bite you if we are playing or I really want something. So be careful.
